Framework and Land Use Concept

Circulation and sight lines constitute the organizing framework that connects the campus internally and to the larger community. Land use and build-to lines—which guide the placement of new construction—reinforce this framework, giving order to the campus. The resulting clarity and ease of wayfinding is illustrated in the accompanying aerial perspective, particularly when compared with the same view of the existing campus. An east-west promenade that follows the major sight line between 19th Avenue and the new Creative Arts complex connects the campus internally and to the community. Similarly, two pedestrian bridges cross the valley, firmly linking the campus and adjacent neighborhoods, north and south.
